4.
Membership
4.1 Membership of the Association shall, subject to the terms and
conditions prescribed from time to time by the Executive Council,
be open to person of any nationality, irrespective of sex, aged
18 years or above, who is of good conduct and is willing to support
the objectives of the Association and to abide by the rules of the
Association.
Membership shall consist of:-
4.1.1 Ordinary Member - any person with training, practice or interest
in epidemiology and/or public health; or in the disciplines of medicine,
dentistry, nursing, allied health, or in other related disciplines.
4.1.2 Organisation Member - organisation, whether corporated or
unincorporated, interested in or connected with any one or more
aspects of epidemiology. Organisation Member shall nominate a person
to represent it in the Association. The person so nominated shall
be deemed to have full authority to speak for and all things on
behalf of that organisation. An Organisation Member is not entitled
to be elected as an officer of the Association.
4.1.3 Student Member - full-time student of post-secondary institutions.
4.1.4 Associate Member - person who is willing to support the objectives
of the Association and to abide by the rules of the Association.
4.1.5 Membership application
4.1.5.1 Applications for membership in such forms as prescribed
by the Executive Council shall be duly completed and forwarded to
the Executive Council for approval. The Executive Council may at
its discretion, reject any application without assigning any reason
thereof.
4.1.5.2 Every applicant whose application has been duly accepted
in writing as aforesaid upon payment of the prescribed fee shall
be admitted as a member of the Association.
4.1.5.3 Membership fees for all categories of members shall be set
by the Executive Council annually.
4.1.5.4 The total membership shall not exceed 5,000.
4.1.6 Voting Right
All members shall have the right to receive notice of all general
meetings of the Association; save that Student Members and Associate
Members have no right to vote and propose resolutions and to nominate
and elect. Organisation member is entitled to one voting right.
4.1.7 Executive Council Membership
Organisation members, Student Members and Associate Members have
no right to be elected as an Executive Council Membership or other
Officer.
4.1.8 Membership Activity
All members shall have the right to participate in any activity
organised by the Association and enjoy any other rights set forth
in the Constitution herein.
7.
Termination of Membership
7.1 Membership of a member of any kind shall cease or be terminated
in the following circumstances:-
7.1.1 If the member fails to pay any dues of any kind to the Association.
7.1.2 If the member is in breach of any rule and/or regulation of
the Association.
7.1.3 If the conduct of the Member is considered to be undesirable
in the opinion of the Executive Council.
7.1.4 If the member give notice in writing to the Association to
resign from the Association.
7.2 Any member who has resigned or ceased to be a member of the
Association shall continue to be liable for any annual membership
due and levy and all arrears due and unpaid in accordance with this
Constitution and for all other moneys due by it to the Association.
7.3 A member who has resigned or ceased to be a member of the Association
may apply at anytime for reinstatement and may be reinstated upon
such terms and conditions as the Executive Council deems fit provided
that the Executive Council may refuse to reinstate any such member
without assigning any reason for any such refusal.
